Double-wing courtship embrace of an adult male Buff-breasted Sandpiper (Tryngites subruficollis) in breeding plumage. This display is part of the elaborate lek mating behavior of this species. With wings outstretched, males tip their bill upward, stand on out-stretched toes, vibrate their entire body so that their wings move up and down vertically, and produce a series of vocal ?tick? notes and mechanical buzzing sounds.
